Frequently Asked Questions

From t-shirt shoppers

How do I order a t-shirt?

Click on any image listed on our front page to be redirected to the merchant’s website to order a shirt. Day of the Shirt does not sell t-shirts directly; we only link to other websites that offer daily and weekly pop-culture t-shirt sales.

How do I suggest a t-shirt website?

Send us an email with the website and what you like about it. We only list websites that have rotating daily or weekly pop-culture t-shirt sales.

Can you help me find a specific obscure mashup of Breaking Bad and Peter Pan?

We recommend you search TeePublic, RedBubble, or Teenornous to find a specific design if it’s not for sale on our front page right now.

Do you sell gift cards?

We recommend you buy gift cards from Threadless. They have a large catalog and ship internationally.

I ordered a t-shirt and it hasn’t arrived yet, what should I do?

Depending on the merchant, t-shirts may take 2-8 weeks to be printed and shipped. Check the confirmation email you received when ordering and ask for the status of the order. If you do not receive a response, send us an email with the details and we’ll try to help.

From t-shirt artists and designers

How do I submit my t-shirt sale?

Day of the Shirt only accepts submissions for designs sold on TeePublic and RedBubble. Send us an email with a link to your design. We typically list individual designs for 3 days on our front page.

What t-shirt designs sell best?

Mashups that include contemporary material combined with classic designs or presentational style. For example, “Game of Thrones in the style of Tron” or “Super Mario Deadpool”. Also designs that cute or beautiful. Be sure to check the content and licensing guidelines for the t-shirt website where you’ll be selling it.

Will you print my t-shirt design?

No, Day of the Shirt does not do any sales or printing ourselves. Visit any of the t-shirt websites we list and search for how to submit your designs, or open a shop on TeePublic or RedBubble

From t-shirt merchants and websites

How do I get my website listed on Day of the Shirt?

Day of the Shirt only lists pop-culture t-shirt websites that have rotating daily/weekly sales. That means your website must offer a new t-shirt design for sale at least every 7 days. We prioritize websites with high-quality designs and printing, reasonable prices and shipping rates, and excellent customer support. Send us an email with:

  • a link to your website
  • when and how often you post new designs for sale
  • where you print and ship from
  • what your shipping rates are (domestic and foreign) and where you do (or don’t) ship to

Do I need to have an affiliate program?

No. But if you do have one, we’ll participate in it. Only about half the websites we list have an affiliate program, but it helps pay our bills.

Can I pay you to promote my website or put our sales at the top of your list?

No. Day of the Shirt does not do paid promotions. We share t-shirt sales and designs based on their quality and relevance to our readers.

I’m thinking of starting a t-shirt website. Do you have any advice?

Running a successful t-shirt website is a challenging commitment: procuring artists and designs, handling sales and billing, managing printing and inventory, shipping, marketing, and customer service. Try selling through TeePublic or using Shopify to get your feet wet and start building an email list and social media presence (e.g. Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, etc).
